Leodis Academies Trust

Forging Young Futures

KS2 Teacher with TLR

MPS/UPS with TLR 2a for a suitably experienced candidate

Permanent post. Start date September 2020

Closing date 9am 24 April 2020

Leodis Academies Trust is a successful Multi Academy Trust with five schools in the South Leeds area. As part of our continued growth we have an excellent opportunity for a KS2 teacher to join the team at Blackgates Primary Academy.

Blackgates is a two form entry school situated in Tingley, South Leeds.  It is a highly inclusive school having a wide range of pupils with SEND (25%) and the facilities to support their learning.  With 43% of pupils eligible for Pupil Premium funding (continuing to rise) compared to 25% nationally, we work hard to meet the needs of our individual pupils.  Following our Ofsted inspection in September 2017, Blackgates is a rapidly improving school, which places high regard for pupil and staff welfare in addition to achievement.

We want our children to enjoy their time at Blackgates and to be successful in whatever way they can.  We place great value on high quality teaching, ensuring experiential learning is at the heart of our teaching and we believe these give opportunities for our children to be stimulated, inside and outside the classroom.  As we continue to develop our website we are able to show children’s work that reflects both our creativity and our hard working ethos.

We value strong partnerships between the pupils, parents, staff, governors, the local community and wider community in which we live.

Blackgates Primary Academy emphasises the need to work as a team in a caring, safe and friendly environment.  Our wonderful staff are highly committed to the education of our pupils with our new motto of believe, achieve, succeed. If you want to be part of our journey, work with fabulous children and friendly staff we look forward to receiving your application.

Who are we looking for?

You will have experience in inspiring pupils to develop a love of learning and managing their progress to allow them to be successful.  You will have demonstrated your integrity and potential as a teacher through your strong commitment to exemplary professional standards and continuous improvement. As the postholder will be responsible for teaching and learning in Key Stage 2, applicants should have some experience in this phase as an exemplary practitioner or trainee.

The post offers flexibility as we are able to consider NQTs or candidates looking to be appointed as a TLR holder; to be considered for a TLR you should be an experienced practitioner able to lead a phase. The post can be offered as a secondment opportunity for internal candidates.

The role will be based at Blackgates Primary with the opportunity to work and develop practice with others across the Trust and offers challenge, reward and role development for the right candidate.

Please contact Sue Shires, School Business Manager sue.shires@blackgates.org.uk for an application pack or download from Eteach or LCC.

Interviews for the post will be held 1 May 2020, with the possibility of this taking place via video link.

All posts are subject to pre-employment checks, two references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS), medical clearance and provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK and evidence of qualifications.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our pupils and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
