Temporary for duration of apprenticeship (approx. 15 months)

To start January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter

35 hours per week – term time only

Hourly rate £5.30 per hour (actual salary £8,024)

Blackgates Primary Academy has an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join the team and develop their skills and knowledge in a school environment role whilst completing their Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools with a recognised training provider.

In the role you will support in providing high quality care and a balanced daily routine for children within the school, and will provide general support to the staff, assisting in planning and delivering activities.  You may be working with small or larger groups of children and will assist staff in monitoring developmental progress.

Who are we looking for?

 You may already working in a similar role and keen to move to a role where you can study to further your career, or you may be leaving further education and looking for your first job.

 You must be willing to learn and have a real desire to take on the challenge of the NVQ Level 2 qualification in Support Teaching and Learning in Schools or similar qualification. You will have good interpersonal skills, be a good team worker and have a natural ability to form positive relationships with children. You will ideally have GCSE English and Maths at Grade C (or equivalent) and prior work experience is preferred although not essential.

 The post is based at Blackgates Primary Academy, part of Leodis Academies Trust.  On successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be future opportunities for career development across the Trust.
